We are forming a playgroup of alumni parents of young children as an opportunity
to meet other young parents as well as stay connected to Stanford and the
Stanford Club of San Diego.
If you have a child born since January 2002 - or are expecting a child sometime
in 2004 - and are interested in meeting other parents and young children, please

"The Namesake" by Jhumpa Lahiri has been chosen for discussion. It concerns the life of a family of Indian immigrants to the United Sates and is recognized for its amazing prose and empathy for the characters. It was strongly recommended by two book club members who believe it will provoke a lively and interesting discussion. The author's previous book received the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction, and other awards.
