It’s that time again: when
high school seniors (and their parents) pore over U.S.
News & World
Report’s college
rankings, and schools decry the magazine’s methodology.
Stanford tied for fifth this year in the main “national
universities—doctoral” category, along with Caltech,
Duke and the University of Pennsylvania. Several of the
University’s
graduate schools fared a bit better: Business, Education,
Engineering and Law each placed second in their respective
surveys.
Meanwhile, the Princeton Review released its Best
351 Colleges
Rankings, where Stanford cracked the top 20 in six
categories. Its highest ranking was sixth, for “happiest students.”
